Depending on which of our applications you use, we may collect:

• Authentication tokens (managed by Firebase Authentication)

• Written stories or text submitted for evaluation (in educational apps)

Children's Data

Some of our applications (such as WordWiz) are designed for use by children under the supervision of a parent or guardian. In these cases:

• The parent/guardian creates and manages the account
• Children's profiles are created by the parent within the parent's account
• We do not collect personal information directly from children
• We comply with the UK Children's Code (Age Appropriate Design Code) and COPPA

We use collected data for the following purposes:

• Providing services: To operate our apps, save your progress, and deliver personalised experiences
• Authentication: To verify your identity and secure your account
• Improvement: To understand how our apps are used and improve them
• Communication: To send essential account notifications (e.g., password resets, verification emails)
• Safety: To detect and prevent fraud, abuse, or security incidents

We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or selling to third parties.

Under UK GDPR, we process your personal data on the following legal bases:

• Contract: Processing necessary to provide the services you have requested (e.g., account creation, saving progress)
• Legitimate interests: Improving our apps, fixing bugs, preventing fraud, and ensuring security
• Consent: Where you have given explicit consent (e.g., optional analytics). You may withdraw consent at any time
• Legal obligation: Where we are required to process data to comply with applicable law

Our applications may use the following third-party services as data processors:

• Google Firebase: Authentication, Cloud Firestore database, Cloud Storage, Analytics, and Crashlytics (Firebase Privacy)
• Google Play Services / Apple App Store: App distribution, in-app purchases, and updates
• Google Gemini AI: Content evaluation and feedback generation in educational apps. Content is processed but not retained for model training (Google AI Privacy)
• OpenAI: Text-to-speech audio generation for educational feedback. Data is not used for training (OpenAI Privacy)
• Google ML Kit: On-device text recognition (OCR) — processed entirely locally on your device, no data sent to external servers

Each third-party service operates under its own privacy policy. We have Data Processing Agreements in place where required.

We take the security of your data seriously and implement the following measures:

• Data is stored on Google Firebase servers with encryption at rest
• All data transmission is encrypted using TLS 1.2+ / SSL
• Database access is restricted by Firebase Security Rules (principle of least privilege)
• Passwords are never stored in plain text — handled by Firebase Authentication with bcrypt hashing
• Regular security reviews and dependency updates
• No sensitive data is logged or stored in crash reports

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account:

• Your authentication record is permanently deleted from Firebase Authentication
• Your profile data and progress are permanently deleted from Cloud Firestore
• Any uploaded files (e.g., audio feedback) are permanently deleted from Cloud Storage
• Anonymised analytics data may be retained for aggregate reporting
• Deletion is completed within 30 days of your request

Under UK data protection law, you have the following rights:

• Right of access: Request a copy of your personal data
• Right to rectification: Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data

Our mobile applications do not use cookies. Our website (eywasoft.co.uk) is a static site hosted on Firebase Hosting that does not use cookies, tracking scripts, or analytics.

We do not use any advertising SDKs, tracking pixels, or behavioural advertising in any of our applications.

Your data may be processed by third-party services (e.g., Firebase, OpenAI) in locations outside the United Kingdom. Where this occurs, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place, including:

• Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) approved by the ICO
• UK adequacy decisions for the receiving country
• Binding Corporate Rules where applicable

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through our applications or by email. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page indicates when the policy was last revised.

Continued use of our services after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

WordWiz

• Designed for children aged 7-12, used under parental supervision
• Parent creates account and manages child profiles
• AI-generated feedback on children's writing is processed via Google Gemini and OpenAI
• Written content may be temporarily processed by AI services but is not stored by them for training
• OCR scanning (camera/photo) is processed entirely on-device using ML Kit
• No advertising or in-app purchases targeting children
